Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-19
1. Summary
MapMC charges per Minecraft world generated, deducted from your top-up balance. There is no subscription. We try to make refunds obvious and automatic where possible.
2. Automatic refunds
2.1 — Failed generations
If our worker can't produce your world (engine error, server crash, timeout, etc.), the credit you paid is automatically refunded to your balance within 24 hours. You'll receive an email with the failure reason. No action needed.
2.2 — Stripe-side issues
If Stripe flags or refunds a charge (chargeback, fraud detection, partial refund), we mirror that in your MapMC balance automatically.
3. Manual refunds (we may help)
3.1 — Unused balance within 14 days
If you topped up but haven't generated any worlds (or only spent a tiny portion), and it's been less than 14 days, email support@mapmc.app with your account email and we'll refund the unused balance to your original payment method.
3.2 — Successful generations with poor data
If you picked an area with little or no OpenStreetMap data and the generated world feels mostly empty, the service has been rendered and we don't refund. We recommend:
- Browse the area on openstreetmap.org first to confirm coverage.
- Start small ($3 / 0.2 km²) before paying for a larger region.
- Pick cities or villages over open countryside.
4. Non-refundable
- Successfully generated worlds where the issue is preference, not a technical failure ("I don't like how it looks").
- Used balance after 14 days from top-up — but the balance never expires, so it remains spendable.
- Stripe processing fees on refunded payments (Stripe doesn't return these to us, but we refund the gross amount you paid).
5. How to request a refund
- Email support@mapmc.app from the account email you registered with.
- Subject line:
Refund request — <your top-up id or job id>. - We acknowledge within 2 business days and either refund (within 5–10 business days after that, depending on your bank) or explain why not.
6. Disputes
If you disagree with our decision, you can dispute the charge with your bank or use the EU ODR platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). We're a small team and would rather resolve things directly.
7. Account closure
If you want to close your MapMC account and forfeit any remaining balance, see the FAQ entry on account deletion or email support.
