Minecraft finders: seeds, versions and search limits

What can MapMC Finders locate?

MapMC provides separate Finders for Biomes, Strongholds, Trial Chambers, Nether Fortresses, Bastions, End Cities, Villages, and selected structures. Each Finder states its supported targets and limits.

Do the Finders support Bedrock Edition?

The public Finders are verified for Minecraft Java 26.2 / 26.3. Each page states the supported edition, version, dimension, and any exclusions.

Does MapMC receive my Seed or coordinates?

Finder calculations run in browser Workers. Your Seed and coordinates are not sent to MapMC as a normal page request.

Which Minecraft finders match my task?

Choose a Biome Finder for a biome search, a dedicated structure finder for one target, or the broader Structure Finder when you need to compare its supported structure types. Read the individual page before running a search: its dimension, starting position and supported targets determine the result. Minecraft finders work from a seed rather than from a city name or street address. Use the real-world Generator when the place you want to build comes from geographic map data instead.

Why do Minecraft finders need the correct edition and version?

The same seed does not guarantee the same result across different editions or world-generation versions. These Minecraft finders use their stated Java 26.2 / 26.3 engine and do not claim Bedrock compatibility. Check your game edition and version first, then copy the seed carefully, including a minus sign when present. Changing the game version after creating a world can leave older generated areas beside newer ones. A result for the current engine should not be treated as a scan of all chunks in an existing world.

How should I check a location before travelling?

Confirm the seed, dimension and X/Z coordinates shown by the selected finder. A Nether location belongs to the Nether rather than to the same numeric position in the Overworld. Read any stated search limit or exclusion on that tool, and compare the result with your actual world before planning a long trip. MapMC supplies a browser reference; it does not teleport your player, verify your equipment or inspect changes made by a server administrator.

Does a finder create or edit my Minecraft world?

No. A finder calculates a reference result in the browser from the inputs you provide. It does not connect to your game, upload a saved world, place blocks or create a downloadable world file. Results describe the supported seed-generation model rather than player-built structures or every server modification. Keep the original seed and world backup when investigating a mismatch. Open the dedicated tool whose scope matches the feature you need, and use its own limitations to decide whether its result applies.
