Minecraft Nether Fortress Finder FAQ

How do I get my Minecraft Seed?

In a Java world you own, use /seed if commands are available, or copy the Seed from the world's settings. Text and numeric Seeds both work and are normalized locally.

What do the returned Nether Fortress coordinates mean?

They are the official Java 26.2 locate X/Z for the single nearest Nether Fortress from your Nether origin. They are not a Y level or guaranteed entrance.

Does this match /locate structure minecraft:fortress?

Yes. The browser engine follows the Java 26.2 Fortress placement and viability rules, and its results passed 60/60 comparisons with the official server command.

Why is there no Y coordinate or entrance?

Minecraft's structure locate result identifies X/Z, not a safe Y level or entrance. Terrain and Fortress pieces vary, so approach carefully and search vertically in game.

Does it support Bedrock or older Java versions?

No. This release is verified only for unmodified Minecraft Java 26.2 in the Nether. Bedrock, older releases, snapshots and modded generation can differ.

Does MapMC receive my Seed or coordinates?

No. The search and Nether Biome map run in browser Workers with no login, and shared state remains after the URL # symbol instead of being sent as a page request.

Does it automatically convert Overworld coordinates at 8:1?

No. Enter Nether X/Z directly. If you start from Overworld coordinates, divide X and Z by eight yourself before searching, then verify your position in game.

What should I do if the Finder fails?

Confirm that JavaScript, WebAssembly, Web Workers and Canvas are enabled, reload the page, and retry with a valid Seed and signed 32-bit Nether X/Z. MapMC does not silently fall back to approximate or server-calculated coordinates.
